Inspiration

The core inspiration for this project came from questioning a rigid social archetype: the "Eomchin-ah" (Mr. Perfect’s Son) figure, and the crushing pressure faced during national holidays like Chuseok (Korean Thanksgiving). This is an artistic expression of the internal conflict between expected success (studying medicine) and personal freedom (play/joy). The central motivation was to give voice to the unspoken suffering behind the 'perfect' facade.

What it does

This AI music video is a social commentary that visualizes the protagonist's internal struggle for personal freedom against parental and societal expectations. It amplifies the core message: "Stop Comparing, Start Freedom." Using AI, the film contrasts the suffocating environment (the desk, the study room) with the desperate longing for an ordinary, joyful life.

How we built it

This film was constructed using a highly complex multi-tool pipeline to achieve nuanced visual contrast:

Music & Vocals: The complete score and vocals were generated using Suno AI.

Visual Generation: Visual scenes were created through the synthesis of multiple platforms, including MidJourney, Hailuo, Kling, and Higgsfield.

Editing & Assembly: The final film was produced and edited in CapCut, ensuring precise synchronization between the music's emotional arc and the visual contrast.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of successfully turning a culturally specific social critique (Chuseok comparison culture) into a universally relatable statement about academic burnout and identity conflict. The project delivers a high level of emotional resonance through its sharp visual narrative.

What's next for The Chuseok Holiday (Korean Thanksgiving) of Mr. Perfect's Son

Following this submission, the project will be leveraged to initiate dialogue around mental health and academic pressure among young adults, building on its core message of freedom.
