This Carbon Footprint Tracker (CFT) isn’t just a project. It’s a vision for millions of people around the world, including us, the creators and developers of the CFT. But what exactly is the Carbon Footprint Tracker? What does it accomplish? How does it affect the community around us? To put it simply, a CFT is a tool of sorts that helps individuals or even organizations to understand their environmental impact (negative). In 2024, about 37.41 billion metric tons of CO2 emissions were recorded around the world. To put that into perspective, less than a century ago, in 1945, this number is estimated to be around 4.26 billion metric tons. And the carbon footprint of the world isn’t going down either. It is projected to reach around 45 billion by 2040. For this reason, people around the world (like us) are working on methods to combat or even neutralize excessive carbon dioxide emissions. The CFT will greatly aid this endeavor.
