Inspiration
Nowadays, many media publish fake news or exaggerated headlines to gather audiences’ attention. Our lives are always negatively impacted by the ensure of the accuracy of information. From the people around us, our parents always worry about us because of some fake news they saw about COVID on the internet. Besides, much misinformation was spread during this special period such as cold can provides some protection against COVID-19. Thus, it is the fake news published during COVID that creates a great misconception and makes us realize the harm and problem of misinformation. Inspired from this scenario, we come up with the idea that we need to reduce the negative effect of fake news and to create a platform where users can get access to authorize answers thus stop worrying about inaccurate information.
What it does
The Capture, our website, is primarily concerned with protecting our users from the dangers of misinformation. Users will result in trustworthy content by searching their concern topic or ask unique questions and receive a response from professionals. Furthermore, we feature a browser extension that will tell you the credibility of the current web page's content.
How we built it
- We put all of our ideas into a shared Google file, designed a site structure, and brainstormed a set of all the features that could be included.
- Making wireframe and prototype with Figma, logo with canva, video presentation with powtoon and renderforest.
Challenges we ran into…..
- Currently, we end up with a lack of skills like artificial intelligence, machine learning to perfect our full report of credibility.
- No similar idea and website structure to learn from.
- It was difficult to say and identify a specific target group of users, for example the age group, social status, occupation, and etc, because the internet user group is huge, and people have different habits of using the internet to share and receive information. We tried to make our design as accessible as possible for everyone.
