Inspiration

To create an Interview Preparation Portal aimed to help students collect all necessary information and resources for interview preparation which includes resume builder option, discussion forum for students, interview experience of seniors and placed students and an opportunity to connect with seniors so as to take help from them regarding the preparation.

#What it does

Providing a system that will help users to see the latest interview experiences.
This website also allows to addition a person’s own interview experience to help others.
This system also provides an option to build their resume using the resume builder.
This system of connections formed between people aiming at interview preparation builds a community of students for campus selection.

How we built it

Interview Preparation Portal is aimed to show the collected forms of students who interviewed their internships or placements. A separate portal was built for this specific purpose to show all the collected interview experiences using expressjs, nodejs and mongodb as the database.
The experience form should be filled by only a verified user therefore login of the user is essential which is provided by email and password validation. The logged in users are stored in the database and only registered users can give their experience.
A Resume Builder is added which goes hand in hand in the interview preparation part which takes basic user details, education details, work experience and projects to give a readymade resume.
An appointment scheduler is added which would be helpful for students to connect with seniors for guidance.
A discussion forum is added to build a healthy student community and direct communication with other users.

Challenges we ran into

Connecting mongodb cluster to the application. Routing different pages using expressjs. Storing user names and user database differently. Providing security to user password using bcrypt package

Accomplishments that we're proud of

This portal is a one stop solution for students who want to prepare for technical interviews of any companies from scratch. The portal provides all the necessities required by the students for preparation on one place whether it be senior’s guidance to technical and HR questions

What's next for Untitled

The key benefit of the proposed application is that the end user can see the latest interview experiences and can also add their own experience to the benefit of others. Many more features like video conferencing with seniors for preparation guidance, live sessions between groups of students, a community where seniors can help guide juniors and company recommendations can be added. The community building aspect can also aspire groups of students to work on similar projects and grow together
