This trailer for The Broker introduces a fictional real-estate underworld in America, where corrupt yet irresistibly glamorous forces close in on one broker, Charlie, and his wife, Daisy. As they chase the promise of a better life, they gradually discover they’ve been pulled into something corrosive—damaging their community and destabilizing their marriage.
Martin Scorsese’s GoodFellas was a major stylistic influence, inspiring both the seductive tone of the world and specific visual nods such as the hallway shot and narrative voiceover style. I also incorporated a subtle Tarantino homage through the diner scene and the character named “Quentin.”
Creating an original soundtrack became an exciting challenge. I was drawn to the emotional warmth of “Sincerely” by The Moonglows—also used in GoodFellas—so I turned to Suno to craft “Daisy,” a track with echoes of 1950s romance layered with the tension beneath Charlie and Daisy’s relationship.
The character Gecko pays tribute to Oliver Stone’s Wall Street and Gordon “Greed is Good” Gekko—reflecting the persona Charlie tries on as he attempts to project power and reshape his destiny.
