Inspiration

Greg Masters wrote a profoundly moving poem about vulnerability and love. Vito Ricci wrote the haunting music. Both works together inspired me to tell the story of vulnerability and love through surreal dreamlike visuals.

What it does

the Bride is an emotional moving work of art. Beginning in stark black-and-white and blooming into vivid color, it becomes a dreamlike meditation on love, memory, and the fragile beauty and vulnerability of human connection.

How we built it

The poem and music were developed. The visuals and motion need to support and not overwhelm the meaning of the poem. Luma AI was a huge help in create the dreamlike surreal quality for the motion and many of the visuals. Google's Whisk helped with images that need more detailed fidelity especially in the hands sequence. Editing in Premiere brought all of the elements together create this beautiful haunting piece.

Challenges we ran into

the length of the Bride is only a 7 stanza, while the music is 7:42 seconds, a beat sheet was created to understand the point the reading of the poem comes in and out. I used my trained GPT to create beat sheet to create narration, music and visual alignment.
