Inspiration

To freshmen that were initially new on campus, finding our way around was difficult. In order to fix this issue, we were inspired by the pre-existing Google Maps and decided to instead create a website that would make this process easier.

What it does

This website acts similarly to Google Maps and allows users to navigate unfamiliar locations in order to get to the nearest bathroom or source of drinking water.

How we built it

We started building the website by first using JavaScript onto a html file. The main goal was to create a successful website that shows a user the directions from one place on campus to another, and with the feature of available bathrooms/water fountains in the website. Using JavaScript and html, we created a google API key and uploaded that onto the file. Using Google Maps API key, we coded a limit on the google maps that shows the user only within the NJIT campus. We also coded to show the user the physical directions from one place to another.

Challenges we ran into

Some challenges that we ran into over the course of the project were establishing an effective login screen and figuring out how to work Google's API.
