Inspiration
Try to book a room at the UPC library, you will find it heavy and difficult, so we decided that its time to get the library's rooms off the browser and make it easier coding an android app.
What it does
It shows you the rooms that are available and feet with the schedule you decide, then you just have to click it to order a room.
How we built it
As an android app we decided to work with android studio, so we have built our app based on xml and kotlin.
Challenges we ran into
It seems easy but one of the hardest parts was the xml designing interface, when you get into it for the first time the interface is definetly not what you are expecting.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
The app itself, learning more about a language like kotlin, being patient and discovering the hard world of android xml designing.
What we learned
The UPC students from second year like us are very used to c++ and c , so programming with another languages like kotlin and xml has helped us to improve our programming skills.
What's next for The Booker
We hope our app will be helpful for the UPC students in the future, because our objective was making their students life a bit more easier.
