The Blind Copilot

Inspiration

Looked how tough the life of a blind person is and thought of how we could help them

What it does

The device has several features: -Uses Machine learning with the help of a camera and a real time audio output to help the blind person navigate their environment. -Has the capability of decoding and reading aloud written text from an Image,can be a novel, magazine or any written material. -Has the capabilityto update blind person of their location,current time,date..etc.

How we built it

We built the prototype using Raspberry pi,picamera, a Bluetooth device and micro buttons.

Training our ML model to achieve good accuracy

The device can identify objects,read written tect alound, tell the time,date and location

What we learned

Success is a journey that requires perserverance and consistency.

Adding many features to make the blind feel more connected and reducing the size of the device.
