The Bicycle Game challenges players to pick a diversity of healthy foods in order to win a bicycle race: the more diverse the food choices, the faster the bicycle goes. Over 7 levels, the game increases in difficulty, challenging the player to go faster in order to win each race. Players can also customize their avatar. The objective behind the Bicycle Game is to provide a short but engaging experience that subconsciously influences real-life food choices. Rather than show direct empirical data, the amount of each food eaten is visualized in colored bars on the left side of the screen (colors of MyPyramid food groups). Over time, this teaches players to estimate the percent daily value that a food gives to each food group. The goal of the game is to nurture and develop this sense of estimation in the player, so that the player can use it in real-life situations.
