Inspiration

Going on holiday and seeing trash on the beautiful beaches is incredibly saddening, we hope to inspire the next generation to tackle this problem!

What it does

It displays a globe with points on interest marked as red circels. When the user hovers over any of the 3 points, information about pollution in that area will appear and clicking on the circle opens a fun unique minigame related to that area

How we built it

We used pygame to program the game logic and display, along with using assests from the internet for our sprites

Challenges we ran into

We were all new to pygame starting off so getting to grips with this new technology was a challenge we successfully overcame

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're proud of our ability to come together as a team and create a functional app in the allotted time, working cohesively as a team working from the ground up

We learned how to use the module "pygame" along with effective communication skills

I used Python to develop a part of the project called boat.py and fixed bugs in my part of the project. I worked on the movement, animation and logic of the boat. I enjoyed learning how to use Python to make an educational game that teaches kids that recycling can be fun and can save the ocean. It was the first time that I've used pygame to develop a game in a Python IDE. Installing pygame was challenging at the start due to pip not being upgraded to the latest version. The learning process was fun and implementing what I've learned into the development process was rewarding.

I helped come up with how the game would work. I used python and pygame to do the project, in which I specifically worked on the earth.py. It was my first time using pycharm, and I learnt a lot. The earth program runs the river program, ocean program and beach program.

Aryenne Marie Oliveros
I worked on the front-end and back-end. It was my first time using pygame and by the end of it I've learned alot. I mainly worked on the river game mode, where you catch falling trash.
