Inspiration

Bitcamp provided me with a lot of different pieces of hardware. I was not sure of any projects that I could do with real-world functions. So decided to combine the many different pieces of hardware into a project.

What it does

The project operates with a breadboard, Arduino Uno, Grove shield, and other electrical parts. The main functionality draws from the distance sensory. An LCD screen will then print the distance between the closest(up to about 14 feet) object in front of it. A servo will turn (180 degrees) adjusting itself between ranges of 0-30 given by the distance sensor. As well as less that turn on and off given this range. A switch can be flipped to allow the functionality of these pieces. While on the side I have included a laser head diode to be adjusted according to a potentiometer.

How we built it

I built the project by drawing inspiration from the internet and learning how each piece of equipment works. In I was able to combine these different parts by working off of each other.

Challenges we ran into

I needed a potentiometer to provide a function to a laser head, however, the breadboard and wires did not fit properly to the potentiometer. Therefore, with help from a mentor I was able to learn how to solder wires to the potentiometer so I could it.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I am proud of coming to a hackathon and without much experience coming out with more knowledge and skills than when I came.

What we learned

I would say learning how to solder would be a large accomplishment. While also being able to learn how to use the many different intricate pieces of hardware.

What's next for The Beginner Arduino Experience

I do not have additional plans as of now.
