Inspiration
We decided that we wanted to build a multiplayer game. We loved bananas and tag so we set out to build a tag based game about a banana.
What it does
It is a multiplayer game where you catch the opponent with the banana to gain score.
How we built it
We built the web server on node js and aws. We used express for our web server and the phaser game engine to make our game. We used socket io to create multiplayer functionality.
Challenges we ran into
Phaser was a challenge because none of us had experience making a game on a js engine. In addition we had little experience with javascript.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We successfully made the game working and functional.
What we learned
We learned about the way phaser interacts, how js works, and how to use socket io to communicate between client and server.
What's next for The Banana
We want to add more abilities, log in and security as well as making a bigger map.
