Inspiration

Simply put, planes are cool. It is always a fun idea to think about planes and how they fly and how people prepare to fly them.

What it does

The program is meant to test potential pilots on their general aviation skills before taking the Practical Test for their certification to be able to fly. The quiz asks questions found in general handbooks about medical procedures, safety procedures, and general checks and things that must be done to ensure a safe flight.

How I built it

I coded this program in BlueJ with the Java language.

Challenges we ran into

I was unsure about what would be tested. Additionally, due to this being my first project for a hackathon, I was unsure about what to create in the first place. Additionally, my limited knowledge in programming was a bit of a challenge, but it was all fine in the end.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I learned how to use Switch Case! Much nicer than 75 if and if-else statements!

What we learned

I learned about how to use different Java features and a lot of fun things about aviation! This link has a good source for general aviation procedures.

What's next for The Aviation Practical Test

It would be nice to make the project into a nicer format that is more simulator-based with a larger bank of questions, and possibly more choices.
