Inspiration

Seeing that many people seem to share my own wish to live an authentic vacation in a Mediterranean region with like minded people and to learn what one can do also back at home for a healthy enjoyable lifestyle. ...and to contribute at the same time to local sustainable development converting brain drain into brain gain...

What it does

The Mediterranean Diet lifestyle includes healthy food, physical exercise and culture & conviviality. This leads to a stronger immune system helping to protect the organism from health threats.

How I built it

The main task is to create a valid business modell for the concept and an app to support concrete health related monitoring functions and Mediterranean Diet related themes with emphasis on the microbiome. Hippocrates already said "Let food be your medicine and medicine be your food".

Challenges I ran into

Bringing the project from the "networking and brain storming level" to the "business modell and strategic concept level". This is why I participate in this hackathon to commit myself to this next step. It is rather a project belonging to the "Be creative section" and I am still looking for team members...

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

Observing global changes, it seems I have the right concept idea in the right moment and in the right place. Transforming the concept idea into a valuable business model will reveil the enormous potential for the tourism market especially now.

What I learned

For many years, I have been working as a self-employed and would like to join more forces in terms of co-working sessions with a dedicated team consisting of various experts necessary for a successful and enjoyable project development.

What's next for The ArteMedica Tourism HubLab

Creating the strategic team, the operational cluster of stakeholders (public administration, organisations, creative industries etc.) and implement a pilot project in the City of Salerno to be then transfered to selected places in the Province of Salerno and other interested Mediterranean regions.

Hackathon closing message: It was a most interesting experience! It was just quite different from what I had expected as I mistakenly understood the hackathon concept in such a way that we should state our specializations when registering so that the organizing committee could put together groups that would then agree on a joint project. Only then did I see that the participants in this hackathon have to organize themselves and I have to admit I felt a little bit lost on the various platforms used for this hackathon. At this short notice it was not possible to find matching team members in order to develop a concrete detailed business model for my existing concept, so in the end I just followed the online sessions and wait for the next hackathon with more time to get prepared. It would be great to have access to a platform where all participants would be reachable also after this hackathon to get at any time into contact with each other for further networking and co-working.
