Inspiration
The inspiration for this project came from yesterday's opening ceremony. Adam and William demonstrated that skateboarders and hackers have a lot more in common than one might think. So, as a beginner hacker, it is only fitting that my tool helps out beginner skaters.
What it does
My project is a simple webpage that provides beginner skateboarders with injury prevention tips. Skateboarding is not talked about as much as other sports, and as a beginner, it may be hard to learn how to skateboard safely. This webpage hopes to provide a one stop shop for beginners wanting understand safety.
How we built it
I used HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for this project.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
This entire website. I spent much of yesterday frustrated and unsure of where to start but I think I've come a decent way since then. I was even able to embed a YouTube video and create a scroll up button for the users.
What we learned
Everything about HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. At 9 AM on Saturday, I didn't even have VS Code downloaded. Twenty-four hours later, I have created a basic front-end webpage. While it is still fairly simple, I had to figure out everything about web development. Genuinely, I didn't even know what CSS does.
What's next for The Art of the Bail
This website served as an introductory project. However, I want to continue expanding my skills. I hope to create more user interaction (I've already embedded a video and created a scroll up button!). I also want to eventually learn back-end and integrate it with the front-end.
