Hi, my name is Andy Levenson. I am in the 5th Grade at Pace Academy in Atlanta, GA. I am 11 years old, and I wrote and illustrated this book all by myself. My reading teacher told me a bout this hackathon and I was all for it. I hope you like it!
Inspiration
The brave medical professionals that are being superheroes during this worldwide pandemic.
What it does
Explains to children in a unique and fun way, balancing fiction with facts. In the story you will see pages talking about the details of how to wash your hands, social distance, how medical professionals like Dr. Nightingale are working hard to keep us safe, and how we will get through this, together.
How I built it
Pencil, Bristol paper, markers (Chameleon Color Tones, Color Tops, and Prismacolors), my computer, and my brain :) .
Challenges I ran into
Having enough time to finish.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
The quality of the writing. The time and effort I spent working on both the drawings and the story.
What I learned
I need more hours in a day!
What's next for The Adventures of Dr. Nightingale
After Dr. Nightingale has defeated Covid, he will return back to New York City and have a normal life as a doctor until he is needed for the next health crisis.
