Give telephone users the option of hitting a number, such as *666, every time they get a robocall. Once a telephone user hits the designated number, the phone company records where the call came from and reports it to the FTC. After a statistically significant number of robocalls are recorded from one number, the phone company disallows calls from that number going forward. In return for adopting this technology and advertising it to consumers, phone companies will share a portion of the fines levied on robocallers by the FTC.
