the first version of the ball, before I looked up a reference of what an 8 ball looked like, trying maroon and white with limited colors

the second iteration of the ball, trying with gloss and a white dot on the far side, the mesh frame ruined the coloring

Intro
We decided to create a modern Aggie take on an otherwise classic game, while challenging what we thought possible along the way. The 12th Ball is meant as a spirited spin on the classic 8 ball toy, to provide fellow aggies with some well needed laughs after a long hackathon.
Making the 12th Ball
Both Monty and myself are fairly new to coding, neither of us taking past CS A in high school, and this was a pretty big undertaking for the both of us. Through the process, Monty ran the front end and gave the structure to the back end, then I was responsible for the 12 ball in all its iterations and the 3d renderer to include it in the site. I had never touched HTML before and leaping for 3d rendering was like diving in the deep end, and Monty had never really worked with page structure before and had to learn a lot about proper page setup to make our site run and correct itself as the dimensions of the window changes. Overall, both of us struggled in learning as we went, but I know we're both the better for it, and we both learned a lot just to get this site off the ground.
What's next for The 12th Ball
If we had more time on the project, I would want to try to add the 12 back onto the ball, some of the earlier iterations had it, but through file incompatibilities, the white numbering didn't make the cut. Monty explained that if he had more time to learn more about web design, that he would want to incorporate more tools and feature (bells and whistles, if you will) to the website. We hope that Ags for years to come can enjoy playing with our balls.
