During the pandemic—somewhere between baking banana bread I didn’t ask for and trying to remember what day it was—I had a thought: Wouldn’t it be nice to be reminded of the good things, the small wins, the stuff that made me smile… especially when everything felt upside down?
That’s when the idea for Thankfull was born.
It started simple: What if an app could help you build a habit of gratitude—not by forcing you to journal paragraphs every night, but just by nudging you to jot down a few things you’re thankful for? And better yet, what if it reminded you later, at just the right moment, of those same things?
Great idea. Easy enough, right?
Nope.
I tried to build it. And failed. Then tried again… and failed again. Different platforms, different tools, late nights, bug fixes that caused more bugs—it was a whole gratitude journey in itself. (At one point, I think I was more thankful for caffeine than anything else.)
But I couldn’t let it go. The idea stuck with me. Because deep down, I knew that something like this could help people feel more grounded, more hopeful—even if it was just a tiny moment of joy in a busy, messy day.
Enter Bolt. With it, I’ve finally managed to create a working version—just an MVP for now, but it’s real. It works. It’s alive (cue Frankenstein voice). And it’s already helping me stay connected to the good things in my life.
So that’s the story of Thankfull. Built with persistence, a lot of trial and error, and the unshakable belief that even the smallest reminder of joy can make a big difference.
