Inspiration
The journey of building ThalaSync began with the powerful problem statement presented by Blood Warriors. Reading about the daily struggles of Thalassemia patients in India, the constant anxiety of finding blood, the financial strain, and the emotional toll on families.
What I learned
Many people have their struggles (not common financial or other things but serious issues like (Thalassemia) and those who are capable of solving it (or think of a solution to their problems) can make a move to bring a change to not only the lives of the suffers but also to their families
How can we build it
So to address the critical and time-sensitive challenge of connecting Thalassemia patients with compatible, available blood donors in real-time, we can build an intelligent, predictive blood donation matchmaking mobile application that uses AI to forecast the demands and proactively send "pre-alert" notifications to a pool of highly probable donors a week before the patient's predicted need, drastically reducing last-minute scrambles. We can use real time data to identify and alert the nearest available donors when an emergency request is raised, minimizing travel time. Also to encourage repeat donations, we can add gamification concepts like Points, Leaderboards, Badges and other similar things. Achievements are more likely to be shared and therefore help in spreading awareness about Thalassemia.
