Inspiration

The Ripple Effect One well-matched donation doesn't just save one life - it:

Inspires the donor to give again Gives a family hope and stability Creates a network effect of awareness and support Proves technology can amplify human kindness

What it does

An AI-powered platform that predicts when blood donors will be available and automatically matches them with Thalassemia patients who need regular transfusions.

How we built it

Week 1-2: Setup Flask backend with PostgreSQL database, create Patient/Donor models, build basic REST APIs for registration and matching. Week 3: Develop ML prediction algorithm using scikit-learn to analyze donor patterns and forecast availability based on historical data. Week 4: Build React frontend with patient dashboard, donor portal, and real-time matching interface using Tailwind CSS. Week 5: Integrate e-RaktKosh API, add SMS/WhatsApp notifications, implement JWT authentication and security measures. Week 6: Deploy on AWS/GCP with Docker, add monitoring, conduct user testing, and fix bugs for production readiness. Tech Stack: Python/Flask + PostgreSQL + Redis (backend), React + Tailwind (frontend), scikit-learn (ML), Docker (deployment). Team Structure: Full-stack dev (backend/APIs), Frontend dev (React UI), ML engineer (predictions), Product manager (strategy), UX designer. MVP Focus: Core matching algorithm, basic prediction model, simple dashboards, demo data - built for hackathon presentation. Development Flow: Database → APIs → ML Model → Frontend → Integrations → Testing → Deployment in iterative sprints. Result: Functional platform in 6 weeks that can match donors with patients and predict blood availability using AI.

Challenges we ran into

Hackathon Success Metrics:

Complete user journey from registration to successful match AI model shows meaningful predictions (not random) UI is intuitive enough for judges to navigate independently Technical architecture can scale (demonstrated through code quality) Clear value proposition for Blood Warriors organization

Accomplishments that we're proud of

₹15-20 lakhs initial funding is available for platform development Ongoing operational costs (₹2-3 lakhs/month) can be sustained through grants Revenue model will emerge through partnerships or premium features Cost savings from efficiency will justify investment for Blood Warriors
