Inspiration The growing need for accessible, culturally-sensitive, and evidence-based maternal healthcare information across diverse communities inspired us to create the Multilingual Maternal Health Chatbot. By leveraging AI's potential in healthcare, we aim to improve maternal health outcomes for mothers and families around the world.
What it does The Multilingual Maternal Health Chatbot provides clear, accurate, and compassionate guidance on pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum care in multiple languages. It answers questions and offers maternal health advice tailored to each user's cultural and medical needs, making it a valuable resource for users from varied linguistic backgrounds.
How we built it We developed the chatbot using Google Gemini Pro for natural language generation, Gradio for the user interface, and Google Colab as our development environment. The bot is designed to respond in multiple languages, allowing users to easily access information in their preferred language, which enhances accessibility and usability.
Challenges we ran into Creating a chatbot capable of understanding and responding to sensitive health-related questions in multiple languages, while ensuring the accuracy and relevance of the medical information, posed significant challenges. Additionally, adapting advanced AI models to handle linguistic and cultural nuances required extensive tuning and testing.
