Inspiration
I spend a lot of time on social media platforms like Reddit and Discord that have a focus on building a community around various topics and feel that a similar platform with a lower barrier of entry and a quick conversation would be interesting.
What it does
The plan was for the application to categorize the topic that a user wants to talk about and match people with the same interests anonymously.
How we built it
Built using React, js and Firebase for hosting and database.
Challenges we ran into
A lot of challenges as this is the first time I am using react and firebase, the messaging and database part of the project I was able to barely meet the timeline for the messaging part of the project but implementing the categorizing and connecting feature would take time.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
As some of these programs are completely new to me, every part of the process is a challenge and finishing every step feels like an achievement.
What we learned
Learnt some of the basics of js and using the firebase dashboard for hosting and creating a database.
What's next for Texting web app using Firebase
Implementing the categorizing and connecting feature would take time.
