๐Ÿ“– Inspiration As TYBSc Computer Science students, we often struggle to find textbooks, reference material, and past year resources in one place. Searching online is time-consuming, and sometimes the links are broken or unsafe. We wanted to build a simple, fast, and reliable web app that gives students quick access to the textbooks they need without hassle.

๐Ÿš€ What it does TextbookMate is a web-based application that allows TYBSc CS students to:

๐Ÿ“š Browse & Download textbooks organized by subject ๐Ÿ” Quick search for specific books. ๐Ÿ“‚ Access PDFs in a single click without dealing with broken links.

๐Ÿ› ๏ธ How we built it Frontend: HTML, CSS, JavaScript for a simple and user-friendly UI. Backend: itโ€™s static Deployment: Hosted on Netlify

โšก Challenges we ran into Finding a reliable way to host and serve PDFs without broken links. Designing a minimal but intuitive UI for fast access. Managing time alongside academics to get the project working end-to-end. Deploying the app online so that everyone can access it.

๐Ÿ† Accomplishments that we're proud of Built a working solution that actually helps classmates save time. Learned how to host and deploy a web app. Created a clean and simple design that makes resources easily accessible. Received positive feedback from peers who tested it.

๐Ÿ“š What we learned How to go from an idea โ†’ functional web app. Basics of frontend Hosting and deployment challenges. Importance of UX (user experience) when designing tools for students.

๐Ÿ”ฎ Whatโ€™s next for TextbookMate Adding login & personalization (so students can bookmark favorite books). Expanding to other semesters and courses. Integrating AI-based search (e.g., โ€œfind me all books on Data Structuresโ€). Adding notes & past year papers in addition to textbooks. Making it a mobile app for easier access.
