Inspiration
Honestly? Just a random thought to make life easier 😭 I’m a developer and lowkey believe I can create anything what I want to. So I thought why not build something actually useful? Something that helps people communicate better, avoid cringe, and add a little ✨magic✨ before hitting send. That’s how this whole thing started.
What it does
It’s a chaotic emotional texting sidekick. Checking the message's vibe, cringe level, and even spinning a decision wheel when you’re unsure if you should send that risky text 👀. It also has the option to Humanify, which means converting the message into a normal human being tone lol, it translates boring messagess to cool Gen Z ones, adjusts tone, and lets you save drafts. Basically, it helps you not flop in your DMs 💅 The live site won’t work fully , I removed the paid API key before going live . It worked during testing, and I recorded a demo, but couldn’t keep it active for public use 🥹
How we built it
Fully built using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. No fancy frameworks, just me and some ✨hustle energy✨. I planned the UI with a Gen Z–friendly vibe, added interactive features and made it black black. Cz light mode hurts 😵💫
Challenges we ran into
Okay so tbh, I’m still a beginner 😭 and some of the logic was kinda next-level for me. But I didn’t wanna give up. I challenged myself to get this working in just 2 days for the hackathon. It was messy, but worth it.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
I’m super proud that I built something actually functional and cool that I can now keep improving. I also loved how the hackathon criteria itself gave me the idea — like it sparked something in me. Plus, the fact that I could modify it to fit my own vision? That’s powerful 💪
What we learned
I learned how to work under pressure, seriously. Two days felt like two minutes 😭 but I kept going. I realized that even if the project’s not 100% perfect, it’s part of the journey, and I’m excited to keep learning and leveling up from here.
What's next for Text Spark
In the future, I’m planning to use paid APIs/resources, maybe even turn this into a proper browser extension, so people don’t have to visit a separate site, it’s just there while they text. Like Grammarly but ✨for your chaotic emotions✨. This is just the start — Stayyyy tuned 😉
