Inspiration

Wanted to see how the tools we use all the time as programmers work.

What it does

It allows you to edit and save text, albeit poorly.

How we built it

Individual vector buffers of characters inside of C++, which each represent a line. A larger vector of these character vectors is used to keep track of the individual buffers.

Challenges we ran into

Windows doesn't like ANSI is probably the main issue as well as general bugs and whatnot when using C/C++.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Its almost a proper text editor!!!!

What we learned

Text editing is hard and that windows absolutely seems to despise TUIs. Also what a TUI (text based ui) is (as most of the time its either CLIs or GUIs in windows)

What's next for Text editor

maybe try and add more features to make it more akin to modern text editors or not as jarring to use. NOTE: ctrl+s = save ctrl+z = exit
