Inspiration
I got the idea for this hack when a friend on a throttled data connection tried requesting an Uber over 2G/Edge. It was often slow and inaccurate. To make the process more realiable, my team and I've built text-a-ride, implementing Uber completely over text message. In addition, sometimes just texting a few direction is more streamlined and straighforward than opening the app.
What it does
This server uses Python, Twilio, and the Uber API to fulfill uber requests.
What's next for text-a-ride
I really want to clean up the code, and open-source it to make this service openly available for everyone to use.
