Inspiration

The timeless appeal of Tetris, with its simple yet addictive gameplay, inspired us to create our own version of this classic game.

What it does

Our Tetris game challenges players to strategically rotate and place falling blocks to create complete horizontal lines, testing their reflexes and spatial awareness.

How we built it

We built our Tetris game using JavaScript for the frontend and HTML/CSS for the interface. We utilized the canvas element for rendering the game board and implemented logic for block movement and line clearing.

Challenges we ran into

One of the main challenges we faced was optimizing the performance of the game, particularly when handling multiple blocks and line clears simultaneously. We also encountered difficulties in fine-tuning the block spawning algorithm to ensure a balanced and challenging gameplay experience.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're proud to have created a polished and engaging Tetris experience that captures the essence of the original game while adding our own unique touches. Additionally, overcoming the technical challenges along the way has strengthened our skills as developers.

What we learned

Throughout the development process, we gained valuable insights into game design principles, JavaScript optimization techniques, and collaborative problem-solving. We also deepened our understanding of user experience considerations in game development.

What's next for Tetris game

In the future, we plan to add additional features such as customizable difficulty levels, multiplayer functionality, and integration with online leaderboards. We also aim to enhance the visual aesthetics and overall polish of the game to provide an even more immersive gaming experience.
