Inspiration

I love absurd games where nothing makes sense and there's no way to ever win.

What it does

Papayito 3000 is a deliberately unwinnable farming game where the player nurtures a papaya tree through watering, singing, and fertilizing commands, but just as the tree is about to bear fruit, a giant fly eats it, ending the game with a humorous "game over" and a leaderboard titled "Everyone’s a loser herre".

How we built it

Papayito 3000 was built 100% using bolt.new (Devvit x Bolt).

Challenges we ran into

Importing audio files into the project was not possible, so the only alternative was to let Bolt play some random one.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

It's fully deployed to Reddit so anyone can play.

What we learned

Learned about Devvit, which is really amazing! I also learned that Bolt is really good at pixel art :D

What's next for Papayito 3000

Eventually in the future, we will release the export to csv functionality where users can download a file with a dead papaya tree record.
