Inspiration
Our team loves the 30+ year old Japanese Vocaloid character, Kasane Teto! We wanted to try a simple, beginner-friendly hardware project that would match the steam and steel theme.
What it does
TetO'Clock forces lazy sleepers to actually get up from bed, and vigorously aim for our Kasane Teto-inspired steam train alarm clock. She'll make sure you won't go back to sleep... and turn your easy morning into an annoying, but active challenge with intention and meaning.

Challenges we ran into
We certainly ran into a great variety of technical and hardware hurdles that restricted our progress. This included bugs and connection issues, and especially constraints on our given equipment.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are happy to say that we are all beginner hardware users, yet we were able to achieve goals we initially believed were too ambitious for us! We went from having no experience with Arduino to building a project we can look back at in the future. We are so grateful to the MLH and SBUHacks organizing teams for the holistic support and experience.
What we learned
We learned the basics of Arduino, the compatibility of different coding languages, and especially the importance of teamwork through dividing responsibilities and tasks.
What's next for TETO'Clock
We want to change the design of the train to make it more stable and limit the amount of space used for the body of our prototype.
