Inspiration

TestingBot provides automated testing in the cloud, with support for Selenium, Appium, Cypress and Puppeteer/Playwright.

What it does

You can test your websites on +3000 different browser combinations, or upload a mobile app and test the app on several iOS and Android devices.

How I built it

I started with micro-services in NodeJS. The website is built with Ruby on Rails. Most services use TCP/HTTP to communicate with each other. Some open-source projects are used, such as Apache Guacamole.

Challenges I ran into

NodeJS: keep everything bug-free, fast and avoid callback-hell.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

The grid runs on own dedicated hardware, with customers running over 100 parallel tests.

What I learned

Iterate often, both on product/marketing/tech - keep experimenting with ways to improve the overall service.

What's next for TestingBot

We'll be adding support for XCUITest and Espresso, for people looking to automate their mobile app tests. Next, we'll also add CPU/Memory monitoring to the mobile app testing suite.
