Inspiration

Although our team does not specialise in accounting, we understand the need for good customer service and the need for effective communication, whether it is between B2B (Business to Business) or B2C (Business to Consumer)

What the Application Does

The aim of our application is to adopt emerging technologies and reinforce how these technologies can: help auditor’s clients to increase efficiency in audit practices and how adopting such technology can help improve the audit company’s services.

How We Will Build the Application

At the moment, our team only possess basic developing skills. We have decided that deploying a web application fits better within our skill sets, although we could venture into building mobile applications if our idea is successful. But we’ll be using Python Flask, HTML,mySQL and JavaScript

Challenges We Faced

We made a number of assumption while developing the application as none of us have first-hand experience working in the accounting industry. Some assumptions include: • Limited knowledge on step by step procedure in accounting • Unsure if there are any similar apps circulating internally in auditing companies • Limited knowledge on Hackathons in general

Accomplishments We Are Proud Of

• Acquired an adequate level of knowledge in the accounting industry, of which we are unfamiliar with. In particular: the accounting landscape in Singapore today, current work practices in PWC, functions and technologies that are being used to support the company and the common issues faced by professionals in the industry. • Brainstormed ideas using the methods taught in the Design Sprint workshop.

What we learned

This experience has definitely given us the opportunity to work together and overcome difficulties as a team. The majority of the team consists of business students, and it has been a great opportunity to gain first-hand knowledge about the accounting landscape and the real challenges faced by the industry.

What Is Next For Our Application

If we are able to make it into the finals, we will definitely look into developing the application that is reachable within our skill sets.
