Inspiration

35,000+ weekly searches for "testimonial" tools. Businesses pay $50-300/month for basic collection. Zero open source alternatives that I could find exist. I've been needing this tool, so I'm trying to build to solve my own boring pain point.

What it does

TestimonialSource will hopefully be the first community-powered testimonial collection platform. Like how Apify has 1,500+ community scrapers or n8n has 400+ integrations - we're building the same for testimonial collection. Each "Collector" handles one platform (TikTok, LinkedIn, Google Reviews) as a simple file.

How we built it

Built entirely with Bolt.new using a single prompt strategy. We will add onto the main lander built with Bolt pending interest via GitHub Stars.

Challenges we ran into

Designing a plugin architecture simple enough for community contribution but powerful enough for enterprise use. To be solved with the Actor concept - each Collector is one JavaScript file with standardized output format. We will see how it plays out.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

• Validated market demand with 4+ years of search volume data
• Designed community growth model that scales automatically
• Created "Verified Recently" authenticity concept
• Built for both personal creators (UGC, LinkedIn) and businesses

What we learned

Community-driven platforms win by making contribution incredibly simple. Allowing businesses and people to turn costs into profits (Apify model) can grow fast. One JavaScript file beats complex SDKs. Market validation through search volume is more reliable than surveys.

What's next for TestimonialSource

Plan to launch with 3 core Collectors (TikTok, LinkedIn, Google Reviews). Build revenue sharing for community developers. Target real estate agents first (1,000+ weekly searches prove demand). Scale to 100+ community-contributed Collectors.
