Inspiration
Our group was inspired by the recent developments in blockchain technologies. We saw the value in it and how it can effect the future, so we decided to further our knowledge.
What it does
Our solution allows for artifacts to be uniquely identified through blockchain technology. This allows for useful information/details to be stored such as proof of origin and ownership. We also created our own Ethereum based currency called Museumcoin that serves as an incentive for the public to visit museums and use the coin to exchange for whatever they please.
How we built it
The solution was developed through a collaborative effort through google docs. We used other documentation as groundwork to build our ideas on.
Challenges we ran into
The project in itself was a challenge as blockchain technologies is a new subject to our group. Half of our time working on this solution was getting a good understanding of the basic concepts.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are very proud of the amount of work we put into this project. We stayed up until 3am in order to have a firm grasp on the concepts of blockchain technologies. We area also proud to be working with each other and the staff of the Hackathon. We are grateful for the opportunity to learn about this new technology.
What we learned
We learned about the different ways blockchain technologies can be implemented. It can be used to store smart contracts or used as a decentralized finance platform.
What's next for Solution to Case Study #2
Next, the parties would have to agree on how to split the revenue amounts. With the concepts for the smart contract good to go, the parties need to agree on terms and then they are good to go!
