Inspiration

Devpost hackathons are great for improving our software development skills. However, it's impossible to get a clear idea of how our submission compares with the others, except when we are among the winners of a particular hackathon. So, I thought it would be great to have a detailed evaluation and feedback system to inform the contestants, how great (or poor) their submissions were performing in the hackathon.

What it does

This will be a totally new evaluation system intended to be used by the hackathon judges. They will be able to set different criteria for evaluation, define a scoring system, evaluate the submissions based on them, finalize the scores and select winners and provide individual feedback via email (score, rank, what their submission is lacking, how it could have been improved etc.) to every contestant.

This will make the whole process more streamlined and help contestants to improve their skills while pinpointing and eliminating their weaknesses.

What's next?

Devpost team could further develop along these lines of thinking and implement the system so that all the contestants can benefit from it.
