PrepWise was born out of a common but persistent frustration: preparing for interviews often feels overwhelming, unpredictable, and lonely. As early-career professionals ourselves, we noticed that while there are plenty of career resources, few actually help you practice, get real feedback, and build confidence for the real thing. Inspired by advances in AI and the power of collective learning, we realized that with the right technology, anyone could walk into an interview ready, resilient, and one step ahead.
What it does

How we built it
Data Foundation with Apify We scraped 250,000+ interview experiences from Glassdoor using Apify’s configurable scraper , capturing behavioral questions, technical challenges, and company culture insights across industries.
Voice Realism via Leaping.ai Integrated Leaping.ai’s no-code voice platform to simulate recruiter interactions with <2s latency, handling complex dialogue trees and emotional tonality.
AI Analysis with OpenAI GPT-4o powers our feedback engine, evaluating responses against 5+ competency frameworks (e.g., STAR method, technical depth) and suggesting improvements.
Rapid Prototyping on bolt.new Leveraged bolt.new’s browser-based IDE to build and deploy PrepWise without local environments, using its token system to optimize AI resource allocation during peak usage.
Challenges we ran into
No Direct Glassdoor API Access Glassdoor’s public API was discontinued in 2021, forcing us to use Apify’s Glassdoor Jobs Scraper as a workaround. Apify provided reliable data extraction.
Phone-Based Mock Interviews Without a web interface, we relied on outbound call simulations for mock interviews. This introduced: -Inability to assess visual cues like body language -Technical constraints with call quality and recording analysis
