Inspiration
We imagined how it felt like to share our feelings with the around around the word with our own voices during the current situation which we are all facing equally. We imagined people from different countries sharing their worries as well as providing their support and lighting a beam of hope to the ones who are struggling or simply share happy moments from their daily lives with the others. This has a large mental impact especially for the ones who are currently in home isolation or whoever feels lonely in their normal day. On the other hand, hearing from the others could be quite relevant and gives the feeling that we are on this boat together and there is a lot to share despite our diversity.
What it does
In our app, the user could search for a topic of interest or add one if it was not previously added and start recording a short voice note over this topic (around 10 seconds). On other side the user could see the trending topics, click on one and it will shuffle over all the voice notes which were recorded over this topic and display the picture and location of each user who recorded it simultaneously.
How we built it
We used Flutter to develop an app for the idea as well as React.js with firebase for the database to develop a website too.
Challenges we ran into
Our main challenge was making the app/website as scalable as possible for future developments and expansions. Another challenge was working with React.js for the website as implementing the voice feature was not easy to implement in the beginning
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are mainly proud of the idea and the fact that we could be contributing towards making the world less divided and a happier place for many.
What we learned
We learned and still learning to work better under pressure and come up with more creative ideas.
What's next for test
We would probably be working more on ideas to expand the app to connect people more closely not only using voices.
