About Remain of ashes

Remain of ashes is a psychological horror game set in late 18th-century Europe, during the fading years of the witch panic. You play as a young man trying to live an ordinary life in a quiet rural village, until the familiar begins to feel wrong.

How we built it

We started by discussing the concept and plot. Then, we sketched and designed the game, including characters, assets, and settings. We then coded the game.

Challenges we ran into

Some challenges we faced:

  1. Time zone coordination: Both of us worked from different locations, so syncing up for discussions was challenging
  2. Time management: Balancing other responsibilities while progressing on the project required discipline and flexibility
