My project is inspired by the urgent need to reduce the 1.19 million deaths caused by road traffic accidents each year, with four-wheeled vehicles accounting for a significant share. Research shows that 1 in 5 vehicles has serious mechanical defects, many of which go undetected. Most accidents are not sudden but result from gradual deterioration in critical components like brakes, tires, and engines. Delayed maintenance not only increases accident risk but also significantly raises repair costs.
To address this, I developed an AI-powered predictive maintenance solution that shifts from reactive to proactive vehicle care. By leveraging data from VETC stations and analyzing component lifecycle and usage patterns, the system can detect potential issues early and send timely alerts to vehicle owners.
