Building an Engaging Mobile Experience on Meta Horizon
Inspiration
Risky Runners Mobile was inspired by popular endless runners like Temple Run and interactive games like Count Master. I aimed to create an immersive experience that combines engaging gameplay, accessibility, and repeat playability in 5-minute sessions or less.
What it Does
Risky Runners Mobile is an interactive game designed for mobile devices. Players navigate through a challenging obstacle course, collecting rewards while avoiding hazards. The game features addictive gameplay, colorful graphics, and increasingly difficult levels.
How I Built It
I built Risky Runners Mobile using primitive shapes and Horizon Script. This approach allowed me to focus on crafting engaging gameplay mechanics and level design. By leveraging these tools, I successfully created an immersive experience that seamlessly transitions between mobile and VR environments.
Accomplishments That I'm Proud Of
I'm proud of successfully creating an engaging mobile experience that is accessible, fun, and repeatable in 5-minute sessions or less. My game features a unique blend of challenging gameplay and colorful graphics, making it an addictive experience for players.
What I Learned
Throughout this project, I learned the importance of submitting mobile games on Discord to remove the "I'm feeling adventurous" prompt. I also gained valuable experience in building interactive worlds on Meta Horizon and overcoming technical challenges related to publishing on VR and testing on mobile.
What's Next for Risky Runners Mobile
My future plans for Risky Runners Mobile include updating the game with new levels, features, and gameplay mechanics. I also aim to expand my game to other platforms, increasing its reach and accessibility to a wider audience.
