TerraWatch AI is an AI-powered satellite monitoring platform designed to identify and analyse potential wildfire activity using NASA satellite observations.
Problem Statement
Wildfires can spread across large geographical areas, threatening forests, wildlife and nearby communities. Monitoring these areas and interpreting satellite data can be challenging, especially when information is scattered or difficult to understand.
Proposed Solution
TerraWatch AI combines NASA FIRMS satellite thermal-anomaly data with NVIDIA Nemotron to provide an interactive wildfire-monitoring dashboard. Users can select a geographical region, view detected hotspots on a map, and receive AI-generated analysis of their distribution, patterns and potential significance.
