Inspiration
Many people in the environment are interested by sustaining it in terms of conservation, teaching others on good environmental practices and many others but feel left out because they think their ideas are so small and they will not have real impact so In that way I thought... What if conserving my own environment was really as fun and as interesting as using social media like Instagram (Centered on the environment!). So is the web base application CSH(Community Sustainable Hub)
What it does
Community Sustainable Hub (CSH) is a web application that aims to connect like minded individuals interested in environmental sustainability and best practices to share ideas, plan events like community works, give ideas to one, another about protecting the environment. It also gives some resources to people for reference when they want to know more about sustaining it in forms of articles and books. It also captures people's carbon footprint based on their practices and also ranks people on a leaderboard based on their practices. CSH includes a mini AI Chatbot that advices users based on their inquiries. Ensuring that users get the best enjoyable experience in the application
How we built it
I used HTML, CSS, TAILWINDCSS (For best UI experience). JAVASCRIPT for the frontend resulting in an intuitive user friendly web application with a mobile-first design in mind. PHP, MYSQL database, Apache server for the backend,Git and GitHub for version control
Challenges we ran into
Data complexity in the carbon calculator: Estimating personal carbon footprints required a lot of assumptions and simplifications to make it user-friendly and fast.
Building interactivity with limited backend tools (PHP): We had to carefully architect clean, secure PHP logic for things like the forum, user login, and leaderboard.

What we learned
Iearned the power of intergrating technological knowledge in the field of environment sustainability as an assurance to reaching many individuals and getting more hands to work for the social good. I also learned intergrating simple Ai Api to my web application.
What's next for CSH
Adding sections of gamified challenges where users who win challenges by showing real proof can be awarded. I will also add a feature where users can get to browse nearby or online shops selling environment friendly products like recycled materials
