We added some pictures of the backend code, because it doesnt work with the school wifi, and everyone with a working hotspot left :(
Inspiration
We're inspired by projects like Infinite Craft, which involves AI generation with database persistence. We thought of simulator games like the crust.
What it does
Simulates settlement on the moon via a drag and drop interface.
How we built it
Built it with Godot and Node.js with Express.js as the backend. OpenAI and PixelLab API integration.
Challenges we ran into
Ran into many issues, along with some credit and rate limits for the APIs. We also ran into the issue that the school wifi blocks the OpenAI API, allowing it to not generate the new buildings and the building textures.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Being able to create a backend and integrating it with Godot Game engine.
What we learned
Save more time for dev post, and many skills in Godot (It's our first time).
What's next for Terranova
Polish up the application, and developing it to have even more different types of buildings that can be unlocked through research (simulates advancing technologies).
