Inspiration
The game Oregon trail and visual novel games along with the University of Maryland.
What it does
It takes the user through a storyline in which they are presented with obstacles, and questions they must respond to.
How we built it
We used Python to program it and used Pygame as the base for our GUI development.
Challenges we ran into
The main challenges involved the GUI not updating with the information we wanted it to. It took long hours of researching how to update the screen and present different text and images, but we eventually figured it out!
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of creating a fun and engaging game that users familiar with UMD and its campus can appreciate!
What we learned
We learned how to create a game for the first time with an interactive GUI and also how to build a storyline in a group that made sense to everyone.
What's next for Terp Trail
If more time was permitted, we would have loved to add more graphics to the GUI for more interaction with the story as the user progresses, as well as add more story-content to the game in general.
