Inspiration

We wanted to help users understand long & confusing terms of services without having to read it.

What it does

TermsGuard allows a user to paste in any terms of services from any website or app and a built in AI reviews it all & shows all the risky and dangerous parts to the user.

How we built it

We built it as a simple website where a user can paste in their text. In the background, it required an AI API and a bunch of frontend/backend sources such as node JS and tailwind CSS.

Challenges we ran into

The challenges were the formatting of the AI outputs and the configuration of the API within the program to actually make it work.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Accomplishments that we are proud of is gaining skills in Javascript, HTML, & CSS, while also learning how to integrate API's to our programs. Something that we are proud of is helping users understand large contents of text in a simple manner within seconds.

What we learned

We learned how to integrate AI into a web tool and we learned how to solve a complex life-problem in a simpler way.

What's next for TermsGuard

The future plans for TermsGuard is to allow users to upload documents if they are not able to paste in text and to allow the website performance to be much faster and more interactive, w/ capability to handle large files as well.
