Our Inspiration !

Three sophomores Harshitha, Samyu, Paavani(myself) decided to participate in Florida's biggest hackathon - Shell Hacks '21.

What it does ?

We wanted to create something which has a major deal with the current scenario, and what else could be better than the health sector, where people work day and night for us especially in the covid 19 pandemic! We wanted to contribute something good to this field.

How we built it ⚙️?

We built our webpage primarily based on Javascript. We also used HTML, CSS and Jquery.

Challenges💪 that we ran into...

The first challenge was to choose a relevant topic and make a plan on how to implement it. Another big challenge was to create an error free code. We were not aware of many features we planned to use in the game and we had to learn that within a short span of time.

Accomplishments that we're actually proud of !

This being our very first hackathon, with 36 hoursof time we were very satisfied with what we were able to accomplish. Our group has been slowly developing skills throughout ShellHacks hackathons and we were very happy to see the improvement of our skills over our first hackathon. Our biggest accomplishments were: -Developing a "front-end" application in less than 24 hours -Developing a clean and modern looking UI for our webpage -Working effectively as an integrated team, utilizing each other's skillsets while also being flexible. We're extremely proud of our progress, having managed to design and deploy a fully functional web page We worked well as a team to delegate tasks according to our strengths, while maintaining frequent communication through Discord, Google Meets, and Github. Spending our weekend with something we truly love, programming! ❤️

What we learned ?

We were able to learn a lot of new things while we were working on this project. We also learnt how to program a bot , various forms of web designing and many more. Along with that we had to be aware of how a hospital functions and also information about the covid 19 Pandemic.

Brainstorming

On a Google doc, we all met up together to brainstorm all the problems that we, as fellows, are encountering throughout the program.

Research

We researched other project-sharing platforms such as Github and Devpost, and ideated features that would make our webpage more effective for community-building within the Fellowship

Requirements

Having compiled a list of ideas, we drafted a doc of required features and steps, in order to prioritize our tasks effectively.

Design

Before starting to build a UI with JS, we designed our layouts in Canva, a collaborative, graphic designing platform. This helped to visually sync up our ideas so that we could effectively and clearly delegate tasks moving forward.

What's next for Terminal Dynamic Team ?

We are planning to add more functionalities, information and a chatbot to it to make it more useful! We will also add more creative features to it in the coming days.
