Inspiration

Growing up, I have taken numerous personality quizzes because of how fun it is to see just how accurate the results may be to how I feel about myself. From the MBTI to Buzzfeed's random quizzes like "What pizza are you?", personality quizzes are a sensation on the internet. Growing up queer especially, I remember taking many forms of "Are you gay?" or "Where on the LGBTQ spectrum are you?" quizzes and it is intensely interesting to look back and recognize just how much these quizzes have been able to generate interest and educate on various topics I might not have known to research more about before.

What it does

As a Neuroscience and Computer Science double major with a minor in Education, I am very interested in human behaviors and psychology, alongside the many forms of personality categories that we attempt to put ourselves into. Thus I wanted to create my own form of a personality quiz. I had recently been doing personal research for fun on one of the oldest theorized personality type systems in the world, the Four Temperament Model. This ancient concept gave way to the many psychological theories and tests we see today. I decided to implement my research into an educational article-style format and add a quiz with it to increase interest over this topic.

How we built it

I am very new to code and decided to use this project to explore the various functionalities of HTML, CSS, Javascript so that I could learn more about these languages. I did this through Glitch, a coding interface.

Challenges we ran into and Accomplishments that we're proud of

I had a lot of trouble figuring out how to do what I wanted in a way that was aesthetically pleasing to the eye and would catch attention, but W3Schools was a huge help in learning how to code and use the feature I wanted. I am very proud that I was able to go so far and actually complete the project to represent what I had originally visioned, as well as all the features I was able to learn and ultimately implement.

What's next for Temperament Test

I hope that this Temperament Theory Test personality quiz website may be more widely used so that people will be able to use it as a resource for learning about this topic. I also apply this same style of Education for other topics to make learning more interactive and engaging!
