Inspiration Watching crypto charts move feels like playing a game you can't control. We flipped that - what if you could actually control the chart? The idea was simple: make chart movement into a reflex game where every tap matters and volatility works against you.

What it does Temper Trade is a mobile reflex game where you control a stock chart by tapping. Tap to push the price up, release and gravity pulls it down. The chart scrolls left with realistic choppy movement - random walk physics with momentum, volatility spikes, and constant downward pressure. Navigate through obstacles: green tiles multiply your portfolio and trigger pump sequences, red tiles crash it with cascading dumps. Start at $1,000 and survive as long as you can before getting liquidated.

How we built it Built entirely in p5.js for fast prototyping and clean canvas rendering. The core challenge was physics tuning - balancing tap boost, gravity, momentum, and random walk to make the chart feel both realistic and controllable. Implemented collision detection with tight hitboxes, multi-frame pump/dump sequences for variety, and a camera system that zooms out during major price movements. Everything renders at 60fps with particle effects, screen shake, and dynamic color changes for visual feedback.
