Inspiration
Last minute idea when Microsoft gave free Photon. Initial intention was to learn android. I felt I could merge the ideas.
What it does
Using the Particle Photon sensor paired with Microsoft's Azure, I pull Temperature and Humidity reading into a cloud based message queue. With the intention of being able to pull these readings
How I built it
Using Visual Studio to set up an Azure service bus, storage account, and web apps, I had the Photon send it's reading to the cloud. While trying to build my first android app to read from the service bus.
Challenges I ran into
The Photon needed a steady WiFi signal, so I had to install a hotspot application to route the traffic though ethernet cable on my laptop. when setting service bus, the services I used had built in bug which cause me to redo the set up multiple time. I had chosen the wrong service for optimal communication to android from Azure.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
I have something to show. By that I mean, I took on more than I could chew. I forced myself to learn to environments I was unfamiliar with.
What I learned
I feel that I have a greater grasp of Azure and other Microsoft product. I feel I also learn Android a great deal.
What's next for Temp puller from azure
I hope to finish it.
